Case Study: handling VoT cases requiring transnational cooperation in the European Union. In cases where the person present signs of trafficking, or have been identified as being trafficked, and request a transnational referral, these referrals are done informally without a uniform, or rights-based, process. These situations result, more often than not, in a profound re-victimization, putting the rights that have been recognized at risk, and placing the victims in a risky position of falling back into a trafficking situation.
